AUTHOR GUIDELINE

Journal of Tropical Community and One Health (JTCOH)

1. General Guidelines

  1. Manuscripts must be original, have never been published, and are not under review in other journals.

  2. Articles must be written in English, using Cambria font, size 10, line spacing 1.5, and in one-column format.

  3. Manuscript length is 7–20 pages, A4 size, following the journal template.

  4. Manuscripts must follow the structure:

    • Title

    • Author(s) and Affiliation

    • Abstract

    • Keywords

    • Introduction

    • Methods

    • Results and Discussion

    • Conclusion

    • Acknowledgment (optional)

    • References

  5. All manuscripts must follow ethical standards and research reporting guidelines appropriate to the study design.


2. Title and Author Information

  • Title written in Cambria, size 16, bold, Capitalize Each Word.

  • Authors listed clearly with institution, and country, written in italic, size 9.

  • Corresponding author indicated with an asterisk (*) and email must be provided.


3. Abstract

  • Abstract written in English, maximum 250 words, Arial 10, italic, spacing 1.5.

  • Structure:

    • Background

    • Method

    • Result

    • Conclusion

  • Must be clear, descriptive, and reflect the main content of the article.


4. Keywords

  • Provide 3–5 keywords.

  • Written in Cambria 10, separated by ( ; ).

  • Use terms that reflect key concepts of the manuscript.


5. Manuscript Structure

A. Introduction

(Font Cambria 10 spacing 1.5)
Contains:

  • Background and rationale

  • Relevant previous research

  • Problem statement and knowledge gap

  • Research aim(s)

B. Methods

Describe:

  • Study design

  • Population and sample

  • Instruments and data collection

  • Data analysis

  • Ethical approval

  • If diagrams used (data processing, research flow), they must be clear and well labeled.

C. Results and Discussion

  • Represents 40–60% of manuscript length.

  • Results must be presented clearly in text, tables, or figures.

  • Discuss findings with explanations, comparisons with previous studies, theories, or supporting literature.

  • strengths, and limitations.
  • Figures and tables must follow the template formatting:

    • Caption: Cambria 10, not bold, without dots

    • Must be referenced in text (e.g., shown in Table 1).

D. Conclusion

  • Written in paragraph form (not bullet points).

  • Includes summary of findings, future recommendation

E. Acknowledgments (Optional)

  • Addressed to institutions providing funding support or contributions.


6. Figures, Graphics, and Tables

  • Adjust size to fit one column or full page width.

  • Must be clear, high quality, and numbered sequentially (Figure 1, Table 1, etc.).

  • Always referenced in the manuscript.

  • Captions: Cambria 10, without bold or period.


7. Reference Management

A. Citation Style

  • Use Vancouver  style in-text.

  • All cited sources must appear in the reference list and vice versa.

B. Reference Requirements

  • Minimum 25 references.

  • Minimum 80% primary references (journal articles, proceedings).

  • Maximum 20% secondary references (books).

  • Published within the last 5 years, except for foundational theories.

  • Include DOI or stable URL for each reference.

C. Reference Management Tools

Authors are strongly encouraged to use:

  • Mendeley

  • Zotero

  • EndNote

  • RefWorks

D. Formatting

  • Cambria 10, italic, single spacing.

  • Follow Vancouver style exactly as in the template.


8. Ethical Considerations

  • Research involving humans or animals requires ethical approval and must be stated in the Methods section.

  • Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. All manuscripts are checked using plagiarism detection software.

  • Overlap >20% may result in rejection.


9. Submission and APC Policy

  • Submission Fee: 0.00 IDR

  • APC: Authors will only be contacted after acceptance for publication processing.

  • Manuscripts must be submitted through the OJS submission system.


10. Review Process

  • The journal uses a double-blind peer-review system.

  • Manuscripts are evaluated by at least two reviewers.

  • Decisions: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, Resubmit, Reject.

  • Authors must respond to reviewer comments in a response-to-reviewer document.
