Screening for Plagiarism
The Journal of Nursing and Midwifery Innovation upholds a strict policy against plagiarism in all its forms. We are committed to publishing only original, high-quality research and work that adheres to the highest ethical standards. To ensure the integrity of the work submitted and published, all manuscripts will be screened for plagiarism using advanced plagiarism detection tools.
Plagiarism Detection Process:
-
Pre-Submission: Authors are strongly encouraged to ensure that their manuscripts are original and free from any form of plagiarism before submitting. Manuscripts that include excessive similarity to published work without proper citation will be rejected immediately.
-
Post-Submission Screening: Once a manuscript is submitted, it will be subjected to a thorough plagiarism check using plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin, iThenticate, or similar tools). This process will help identify any unoriginal content, including text, ideas, or data that have not been appropriately referenced.
-
Evaluation of Similarity Index: The journal aims for a similarity index of less than 25%. If the plagiarism check reveals a similarity index higher than acceptable (beyond cited references and commonly used phrases), the editorial team will evaluate the overlap in detail to determine whether the manuscript meets the journal’s standards for originality.
-
Handling Plagiarism Cases: If a manuscript is found to contain plagiarized material, the editorial team will take the following actions:
-
Minor Cases: If the issue is minor, such as a lack of proper citation or paraphrasing, the authors will be asked to make revisions and resubmit the manuscript with proper attribution.
-
Severe Cases: In cases of severe plagiarism or data falsification, the manuscript will be rejected, and the authors may be banned from submitting to the journal in the future. If the article has already been published, a retraction notice will be issued, and the authors will be notified of the action.
-
Author Responsibility:
Authors are responsible for ensuring that all content submitted to the Journal of Nursing and Midwifery Innovation is free from plagiarism and properly cites any sources. Any work that is directly quoted, paraphrased, or based on the ideas of others must be accurately cited according to the journal’s referencing guidelines.
Transparency and Ethical Conduct:
The journal values transparency and ethical conduct in academic publishing. We believe that plagiarism undermines the integrity of research and publication, and we are committed to maintaining a transparent process for detecting and addressing plagiarism.
